Grunts Career Change

 As some of you may have or have not noticed I have not been on here as much in the past month. It was mainly caused by my employer QANTAS Airways LTD (Australia's National Airline) deciding that 30% of their engineering staff were to be made redundant.

It was a shock after almost 24 years in the job.

I decided it was time for me to reset my career and started looking for work * put in a voluntary redundancy request. It was a gamble and could turn out ugly.

I got lucky and in January 2013 I start at Volvo Buses Australia as their Contract Support & Technical Services Co ordinator. No more shift work. And probably more time for Kayaking and now also moderating the KC site too.

 Sorry for the job loss, but congratulations on the new job! I like the sounds of this one better!!!

We of course notice when any of our members slow down and visit us less! Especially you Grant

Glad you're joining the KC Crew, I know you'll be a huge asset to our community. Hope the fam is adjusting well! More dad time is always good!

 Well after a month it has certainly been a steep learning curve but all going smoothly.
I am off to Hawaii next week to join the rest of the team in celebrating 500 Volvo Bus sales in Australia in 2012.
