I paddled twenty-one miles (from McInnish Park, Carrollton, TX to just over as mile away from the Lake Lewisville dam and back).

It was against the current on the way up and with it on the way back. Paddling with the current on the way back shaved about 25% of my travel time versus going against it on the way up.

I used my Spot GPS to mark start and stop points and used Google Maps distance yardstick to measure the distance.

I know it isn't overly impressive for you serious paddlers but I think it was a personal best for me and it was my first paddle in a few weeks due to the cold weather.

I just had to post that. I am now resuming my regularly scheduled pizza, beer and SuperBowl big game festivities.

I think that's awesome, Truik and fishaholic. I have been paddling the Waccamaw River in sections. So far, I've paddled through the county I live in and some down into the lower county. I think it's a good thing to set goals and stretch ourselves to reach them. It's a very good thing!

Thanks for the motivational response, SSDF!

I do plan on branching out in this coming season and trying some of the surrounding states and their rivers and lakes.

Then I'll have new stuff to add to the KC launch locator!
