Is kayaking a sport? Trick question??

Sport: An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others.

So, It's a hobby or recreational activity in reference to touring and recreation, but in racing or whitewater competition it becomes a sport?

Discuss you opinions!

Sure. Just like biking or downhill skiing.

One, you're having fun. Two or more and the guy next to you insists on getting in front of you...and you're involved in sport!

Here’s one way to look at it; if ping pong is an Olympic sport then kayaking is definitely a general sport.

My son kayaks on his Wii Sports Resort game, so must be a sport, right? (Though it always bugs me that the game has a single bladed paddle. If you're going to add a sport to a game, you should at least get the details right.)
