What are your pet peeves? boaters, paddle drip, people not wearing PFDs, etc...

Mine personally is seeing so many un-informed people in kayaks not knowing the dangers they put themselves or their kids in. other than that, on the water I'm pretty easy going.

I guess mine is not being friendly. My hubby and I are motorcycle riders and all bikers wave or acknowledge each other. It's a big thing for bikers. My brother and I were kayaking and we were passed by 3 other kayakers. They proceeded past us without as much as a glance then set up down river from us (they were fishing) so we had really no room to go through and they ended up being ugly about it! Just thought it was going to be the same brotherhood as with bikers. Maybe it's just me! lol Other then that no real pet peeves! Love everything about it even the dribble of water that rolls down the paddle!

OOooo Add that to my list. All jeepers wave too.. Kayakers should talk to others... a simple wave or hello... It's respect.

Good topic...my only pet peeve would be boaters with no respect for canoe/ kayaks. For the most part around here I have never had any problems but I've heard of em.

Pet peeve: Currently not being able to kayak due to Chicago weather.
Solution: F it, going kayaking by next week seeing as we will be in the 40s.

Here's a big one: sea kayaker snobs who poo-pooh anything shorter than 15 ft or made of plastic... every sport has its gear poseurs I guess. At the end of the day if you had FUN, what does it matter if it cost $299 or $2999!
